Bump in the Night is a Brownie Try-It from the Girl Scouts of Southern Alabama Council.

Objective: Girls gain practical life skills by learning about nocturnal animals. This will help them be more comfortable around nature when camping out.

  • 1 What is a nocturnal animal? Explain how they differ from other animals and when they come out.
  • 2 Name 5 Nocturnal animals. What does each of them eat?
  • 3 Go outside at night and listen to the sounds at night? What do you hear? Identify the various sounds you recognize. What do you think the other sounds are?
  • 4 Take a cat’s eye hike to learn more about nocturnal animals. Make a list of the animals to see and hear on the hike.
